Element II: Family Management

bottom line

Our Family is committed to providing a safe place to live and an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect. None of us should be subject to safety threats from other family members. You are expected to be in suitable mental and physical condition.

Whenever use or abuse of any mood altering substance (such as alcohol or other drugs) interferes with a safe home, appropriate action must be taken. We recognize family members' have personal lives. However, involvement with any mood altering substances can have an impact on our home and happiness and on our Family's safety and security.

Therefore, you are expected to live with no mood altering substances in your body. While you may make your own lifestyle choices, our Family cannot accept the risk in our home which substance use or abuse may create. The possession, sale or use of mood altering substances in our home, or coming home uncontrollably under the influence of such substances is a violation of our safe home and will be subject to family action.
