Element II: Family Management

bottom line

Our Family believes that every person has the right to a living environment that is pleasant, healthful, comfortable, and free from intimidation, hostility or other offenses which might interfere with any persons' right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Harassment of any sort; verbal, physical, visual is unacceptable behavior for family members.

What Is Harassment?

Harassment can take many forms. It may be, but is not limited to: words, signs, jokes, pranks, intimidation, physical contact, or violence. Harassment is not necessarily sexual in nature.

Sexual harassment may include unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, other verbal or physical contact of a sexual nature which creates an intimidating environment.

Responsibility

As a Family member, you are responsible for helping to keep our family environment free of harassment. Any Family member who becomes aware of an incident of harassment, whether by witnessing the incident or being told of it, must talk to another Family member with whom you feel most comfortable. When our Family becomes aware that harassment might exist, we will take prompt and appropriate action.

Reporting

If you feel that you have experienced harassment, report the incident immediately to any Family member with whom you feel comfortable. Any Family member found to have harassed a fellow Family member or other person will be subject to disciplinary action. We will also take action to correct the situation.
